Unseeded at Charleston, she won the whole tournament, with wins over Daria Gavrilova and Irina-Camelia Begu on her way to the title. This performance gave Daria 53 ELO rating points, and she moves up 16 places in my rankings to #17.
The Upset player of the week award this week goes to Madison Keys. The top seed at Charleston, she received a bye to the 2nd round of the tournament, but then lost her opening match. This loss cost Madison 15 ELO rating points, and she fell 2 places in my rankings to #11.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Laura Siegemund, Jelena Ostapenko, Shelby Rogers, Irina-Camelia Begu and Heather Watson.
