Men's ELO Rankings 10/09/2018

The last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open, finished this week. Below the jump, I highlight who did well, who didn't, and an update to my rankings.

The Player of the week award this week goes to John Millman. He entered the tournament unseeded, and made it to the quarter finals by defeating Fabio Fognini and Roger Federer, before losing to the eventual champion Novak Djokovic. This run gave John 47 ELO rating points, and he moves up 26 places in my rankings to #40.

This week's Upset player of the week is Kyle Edmund. He was the 16th seed at New York, but lost in the 1st round to Paolo Lorenzi, Thus loss meant that Kyle lost 16 ELO rating points, and he falls 3 places in my rankings to #30.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Taylor Fritz, Nikoloz Basilashvili, Joao Sousa, Mikhail Kukushkin and Denis Kudla.
