After the jump, I'll take a look at the players and how I expect the tournament to go. A full update for the Women's ratings will be completed later, once the WTA Elite Trophy concludes.

The 8 tennis players who will be playing the WTA Finals, coloured by the group they are in, along with their ELO ratings are:
  1. Ashleigh Barty - 1866
  2. Naomi Osaka - 1814
  3. Karolina Pliskova - 1810
  4. Simona Halep - 1804
  5. Petra Kvitova - 1788
  6. Bianca Andreescu - 1785
  7. Elina Svitolina - 1756
  8. Belinda Bencic - 1733
The Red Group is the tougher of the 2 groups, with the top 2 ranked players and the 5th ranked player in it, and the Purple Group is the easier group, with the 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th ranked players in it.

Below, I've estimated the chance for each player to advance from the group, make it to the final, and to win the tournament, ignoring changes in rating following each match.

(NOTE: Because the finalists could come from the same group or both groups, the numbers for the winner are a best estimate)

Best of luck to all of the players who made it to the WTA Finals, and may the best player win!
