2022 Tennis ELO Awards - Winners

The voting is over, and it's time to announce the winners! Find out who won this year's Tennis ELO awards after the jump.

Like last year, the polls took place on Twitter, and if you haven't done so already, follow @tennis_elo to be the 1st to hear of new blog posts and more.

Player of the Year - Men's

Nominees:
  • Carlos Alcaraz - For his performance at Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona and Madrid.
  • Francisco Cerundolo - For his performance at Miami and Bastad.
  • Holger Rune - For his performance at Munich, the French Open, Stockholm and Paris.
  • Taylor Fritz - For his performance at Indian Wells and Tokyo.
With 93% of the vote, this year's Player of the Year is clearly Carlos Alcaraz. He started the year ranked #31, but thanks to a massive gain of 264 ELO rating points, he ended the year at #4 in my rankings. We'll see what happened to last year's winner, Aslan Karatsev later. Can Carlos make it to the very top of the ELO ratings?

  • Caroline Garcia - For her performance at Bad Homburg, Warsaw, Cincinnati and the WTA Finals.
  • Iga Swiatek - For her performance at Doha and Rome.
  • Liudmila Samsonova - For her performance at Washington DC, Cleveland and Tokyo.
It's the 3rd year in a row that Iga Swiatek has been nominated, and it's the 2nd time she has won this award, this time with 76% of the vote. She earned a huge 196 ELO rating points over the course of the year, moving her up from #15 to the very top of my rankings. Last year's winner, Barbora Krejcikova, had an average year, losing a few ELO. Can Iga keep up with the high expectations next season
