This week's Big Gainer of the week is Rafael Nadal. He was the 4th seed, and won the tournament, defeating Nick Kyrgios, David Goffin, the new ELO #1 Novak Djokovic and Dominic Thiem. This tournament gave Rafael 36 ELO rating points, moving him closer to the top 3 players.
The Upset player of the week award this week goes to Andy Murray. The top seed at Madrid, he made it to the 3rd round before losing to Borna Coric. This performance cost Andy 17 ELO rating points, and he falls to #2 on my rankings.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Benoit Paire, and that's it.
