It's the final of the French Open, and we're about to crown the winners of the 2nd Grand Slam of the year! But before the matches start, let's take a look at some stats I calculated for the top 150 players after the jump:
Men's Rank | ± ELO |
1-10 | 63 |
11-20 | 19 |
21-50 | 50 |
51-100 | -46 |
101-150 | -44 |
As Nadal and Wawrinka are both in my top 10, these are the final stats for how these groups of players performed. The clear winners are the top 10 players, with Nadal, Thiem and Wawrinka easily countering the early losses for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Alexander Zverev. The losers are the 51-100 group, with most of them losing ELO rating points, the major exception being Horacio Zeballo.
Women's Rank | ± ELO |
1-10 | 26 |
11-20 | 29 |
21-50 | -7 |
51-100 | 10 |
101-150 | -19 |
Unlike the Men's above, this will change after the Women's final, as Jelena Ostapenko is outside of the top 10. The top 10 group has performed strongly this tournament despite early losses by Johanna Konta and Angelique Kerber, but so has the 11-20 group, led by Timea Bacsinszky. On the other hand, the 101-150 group disappointed here, the best of the group being Mariana Duque Marino.
Now, my final ELO ratings and estimated percentage chances of winning:
Men's rankings
# | Name | ELO | Win % |
1 | Rafael Nadal | 1921 | 65% |
2 | Stan Wawrinka | 1813 | 35% |
Women's rankings
# | Name | ELO | Win % |
1 | Simona Halep | 1817 | 74% |
2 | Jelena Ostapenko | 1636 | 26% |
