Men's ELO Rankings 21/08/2017

With the U.S. Open only 2 weeks away, this week saw many of the top players prepare for the last Grand Slam with a tournament in Cincinnati.

This week's Big Gainer of the week award goes to Grigor Dimitrov. He was the 7th seed at Cincinnati, and won the whole tournament, defeating John Isner among others along the way. This title gave Grigor 44 ELO rating points, which sees him move up 7 places in my rankings to #13.

The Upset player of the week this week is Alexander Zverev. The 4th seed at the tournament, he received a bye to round 2, but then lost his opening match to a low ranked wildcard. This loss cost Alexander 19 ELO rating points, and he stays at #5 in my rankings this week.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Jared Donaldson, Yuichi Sugita and Frances Tiafoe.
