Men's ELO Rankings 28/08/2017

The US Open is starting next week, and I shall be posting some predictions for the tournament later, but before then, let's look at how last week ended up. There was 1 tournament this week, in Winston-Salem.

This week's Big Gainer of the week is Damir Dzumhur. Unseeded at the tournament, he made it all the way to the final, defeating Gilles Simon and Chung Hyeon before losing to the top seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the final. This run gave Damir 47 ELO rating points, and he gains 27 places in my rankings to #52.

The Upset player of the week award this week goes to Pablo Carreno Busta. The 2nd seed at Winston-Salem, he receive a bye to the 2nd round, and the lost his opening match. This loss cost Pablo 16 ELO rating points, and he falls 6 places in my rankings to #26.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Jan-Lennard Struff, Taylor Fritz, Carlos Berlocq and Julien Bennetau.
