Men's ELO Rankings 31/08/2020

Professional tennis is back for the first time since March, and just in time, as preparations for the US Open concluded with a tournament not in Cincinnati, but in New York.

This week's Player of the week is Milos Raonic. He made it to the final of this week's tournament, defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas on the way there, before losing to the new ELO #1 Novak Djokovic. He earned 48 ELO rating points for his efforts, and moves up 6 places in my rankings to #13.

This week's Upset player of the week is Dominic Thiem. He was the 2nd seed here, but lost his first match to Filip Krajinovic. This loss cost Dominic 15 ELO rating points, but he stays at #4 in my rankings.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Aljaz Bedene and Ricardas Berankis.
