Men's ELO Rankings 28/09/2015

We return to our regular schedule of weekly updates for both the Men's tour and the Women's tour, with a look at the ATP tournaments held this week, in Metz and St. Petersburg.

The Big Gainer of the week award this week goes to Joao Sousa. He was the 7th seed at St. Petersburg, and was the one who took advantage of the upset player of the week's loss to make it to the final, with a win over Dominic Thiem on the way before losing to 2nd seed Milos Raonic. His run to the final gave Joao 35 ELO rating points, which puts him at #38 in my rankings, 17 places higher than last week.

This week's Upset player of the week is Tomas Berdych. He was the 1st seed at St. Petersburg, but lost in his 1st match (after receiving a bye) to Simone Bolelli, a loss that cost Tomas 14 ELO rating points. He fell 1 place in my rankings from #7 to #8.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Martin Klizan, Lucas Pouille, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Paolo Lorenzi and Benjamin Becker.

Women's ELO Rankings 28/09/2015

We return to our regular schedule of weekly updates for both the Men's tour and the Women's tour, with a look at the WTA tournaments held this week, in Tokyo, Seoul and Guangzhou.

The Big Gainer of the week award this week goes to Agnieszka Radwanska. She won the high quality tournament in Tokyo as the 7th seed, with wins over Karolina Pliskova and Belinda Bencic among others. Her victory gave Agnieszka 44 ELO rating points, which puts her at a new ranking of #7, 1 place higher than last week.

This week's Upset player of the week is Andrea Petkovic. She was seeded 2nd at Guangzhou, but lost in the 1st round to Monica Puig. This loss cost Andrea 14 ELO rating points, and she fell 3 places in my rankings to #27.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Jelena Jankovic, Yanina Wickmayer, Denisa Allertova, Alison Van Uytvanck and Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
