The clay court season has started, and on the WTA Tour, there were 2 tournaments held this week; a larger tournament in Charleston, and a smaller one in Bogota.

This week's Player of the week award goes to Danka Kovinic. She was unseeded at Charleston, and made it all the way to the final there with wins over Petra Kvitova, Yulia Putintseva and Ons Jabeur among others, before losing to Veronika Kudermetova. These result led to Danka earning 67 ELO rating points, and she climbs 50 places in my rankings to #90.
The Upset player of the week this week is Sofia Kenin. The 2nd seed at Charleston received a bye to round 2, but then lost in her opening match. This loss meant that Sofia lost 16 ELO rating points, and she falls 3 places in my rankings to #15.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Paula Badosa, Tamara Zidansek, Lauren Davis, Kurumi Nara and Stefanie Vogele.
