The Player of the week this week is Sorana Cirstea. She won the tournament in Istanbul, defeating Elise Mertens in the final. These wind led to Sorana gaining 53 ELO rating points, moving her up 23 places in my rankings to #41.
The Upset player of the week this week is Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. She was the 6th seed at Istanbul, but lost in the first round to Anastasia Potapova. This loss meant that the 6th seed lost 12 ELO rating points, and she falls 3 places in my rankings to #42.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Marta Kostyuk, Katerina Siniakova and Ana Bogdan.
