The Big Gainer of the week award for these 2 weeks goes to Mischa Zverev. He entered the tournament unseeded, he made it to the quarter finals, by defeating John Isner and ELO #1 Andy Murray, before losing to the eventual champion Roger Federer. This run gave Mischa 43 ELO rating points, and he climbs up 15 places in my rankings to #32.
This (2) week's Upset player of the week is Novak Djokovic. He was the #2 seed, and only 13 ELO rating points behind the #1, so was expected to go very far and to challenge for the top spot, but his loss in the 2nd round cost him any hope of regaining that place. Novak lost 17 ELO rating points for his performance at Melbourne, but as the #1 also under-performed, he is now 14 points behind for the #1 spot.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Andreas Seppi, Malek Jaziri, Denis Istomin, Lukas Lacko and Steve Darcis.
