Men's ELO Rankings 08/01/2018

The Tennis season has started again, and we have 3 tournaments to start the season off, in Doha, Pune and Brisbane.

The first Player of the Week award goes to Gilles Simon. He won the tournament in Pune, defeating the top 3 seeds Roberto Bautista Agut, Marin Cilic and Kevin Anderson. This title gave Gilles 59 ELO rating points, and he climbs 22 places in my rankings to #37.

The first Upset player of the week is Milos Raonic. He was the 4th seed at Brisbane, but lost in the 2nd round after receiving a bye in round 1. This loss cost Milos 16 ELO rating points, and he moves down 2 places in my rankings to #14.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Guido Pella, Benoit Paire, Mirza Basic, Ricardo Ojeda Lara and Alex De Minaur.
