Men's ELO Rankings 19/08/2019

Preparations for the US Open continue with the 2nd of 2 weeks of large tournaments on the ATP Tour, held in Cincinnati.

This week's Player of the week is Daniil Medvedev. The 9th seed at Cincinnati won the tournament, with wins over Novak Djokovic and David Goffin among others. This title earned Daniil 47 ELO rating points, and he moves up 5 places in my rankings to #4.

This week's Upset player of the week is Roger Federer. He was the 3rd seed, and made it to round 3 before losing, but as a highly ranked player, he's expected to do better than this. This result meant that Roger lost 16 ELO rating points, but he stays at #3 in my rankings.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Andrey Rublev, Yoshihito Nishioka and Miomir Kecmanovic.
