The Player of the week for this week is Alison Riske. She was the 8th seed at Linz, and won the tournament by defeating Danielle Collins among others. This title led to Alison earning 49 ELO rating points, and she climbs 28 places in my rankings to #43.
This week's Upset player of the week is Barbora Krejcikova. She was the 2nd seed at the WTA Finals, but she lost all 3 of the matches she played. These losses led to Barbora losing 29 ELO rating points, and she falls 5 places in my rankings to #14.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Jaqueline Cristian, Wang Xinyu, Garbine Muguruza and Karolina Pliskova.
