The Player of the week over the past 2 weeks is Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. She made it to the semi-finals of the tournament, defeating Karolina Pliskova and Jennifer Brady before losing to the eventual winner Aryna Sabalenka. These results led to Anastasia gaining 45 ELO rating points, and she moves up 13 places in my rankings to #29.
This 2 week's Upset player of the week award goes to is Elina Svitolina. She was the 4th seed at Madrid, but she lost her 1st round match to Jil Teichmann. This loss meant that Elina lost 15 ELO rating points, and she moves down 2 places in my rankings to #10.
Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Paula Badosa, and that's it.
