Men's ELO Rankings 14/09/2020

Over the past 2 weeks, there were 2 tournaments held; the 2nd Grand Slam of the Year, the US Open was held over both weeks; and another tournament was held in Kitzbuhel in the 2nd week.

The Player of the week for the 2 weeks is Pablo Carreno Busta. He was the 20th seed at the US Open, and made it to the semi-finals with wins over Novak Djokovic and Denis Shapovalov before losing to Alexander Zverev. This run earned Pablo 34 ELO rating points, which means that he moves up 6 places in my rankings to #17. Special mention to Miomir Kecmanovic for winning the tournament in Kitzbuhel, from which he gained 47 ELO rating points over both tournaments and 14 places to #35.

This 2 week's Upset player of the week award goes to Diego Schwartzman. He was the 9th seed at New York, but lost in round 1 to Cameron Norrie. This loss cost Diego 15 ELO rating points here and another 8 in Kitzbuhel, resulting in a fall of 8 places in my rankings to #23. Another dishonourable mention goes to Fabio Fognini for losing his opening match in Kitzbuhel, which meant he lost 14 ELO rating points and 3 positions to #34.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Vasek Pospisil, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Maximilian Marterer, Yannick Hanfmann and Marc-Andrea Husler.
