Men's ELO Rankings 21/09/2020

Late finishing tennis tournaments mean late blog posts, but with the French Open on next week, let's take a look at what happened last week in Rome.

This week's Player of the week this week is Casper Ruud. He made it to the semi finals of Rome, beating Karen Khachanov and Matteo Berrettini on the way there before losing to the tournament winner Novak Djokovic. These results earned Casper 44 ELO rating points, an he moves up 18 places in my rankings to #37.

This week's Upset player of the week is Stefanos Tsitsipas. He was the 3rd seed and had a bye to round 2, but lost his match to a wildcard. This meant that Stefanos lost 16 ELO rating points, but he stays at #5 in my rankings.

Other strong performers relative to their rankings are Jannik Sinner, Dominik Koepfer, Dusan Lajovic and Stefano Travaglia.
